We did the Hakone day trip with our kids and had a really good time. The ropeway was a big hit, especially the sight of steam from the volcanic area. The Hakone Lake Ashi Cruise was a favorite with everyone, especially because it looked like a pirate ship. We were lucky with the weather and got great views of Mt. Fuji when the clouds cleared. Lunch was good, even our picky eaters enjoyed it and found food they liked, which was a pleasant surprise. The bullet train ride back to Tokyo was another highlight and something the kids kept talking about after. I recommend this trip.

Fuji’s 5th Station really stood out; the views of the lake were incredible and perfect for photos. It was colder up there than expected, but having warm layers made it comfortable.
