The best way to explore Tokyo!

We had a great day exploring Tokyo with Aiko. She shared the proposed itinerary with us before the tour and was happy to adjust it so we could move slowly and really experience the city our way. Throughout the day, she made sure we were comfortable and suggested some really nice stops along the way. We love nature, so she took us through some beautiful parks and local neighbourhoods we wouldn’t have found on our own. It was great walking through the streets of Tokyo with someone who truly knows the city. We learned so much, not only about the culture and landmarks, but also about everyday life in Japan. Can’t recommend this tour enough.

Worth booking this tour!

Our guide, Yuki, was friendly and easy to spend the day with. We booked this tour at the beginning of our trip to get a better sense of Tokyo, and it was a really good decision. My husband and I wanted to focus on traditional places, so she adjusted the route to include temples and shrines. Sensō-ji Temple was lively and full of energy, while Meiji Shrine felt calm and peaceful, which made a nice contrast. Having someone explain what we were seeing helped us understand and enjoy everything more. We also had time to shop for souvenirs, take lots of photos, and enjoy a nice lunch together. Great sightseeing tour and definitely worth the money.

Did you know that Shibuya Crossing is one of the busiest crossings in the world?

  • When the lights change, up to 2,500 people can cross at the same time from all directions.
  • Shibuya Crossing is a famous example of a “scramble crossing.” It means that all traffic stops completely, and pedestrians move freely in every direction.
  • Despite the crowds, collisions are rare, and most people cross without bumping into each other. Locals are used to the flow and move almost instinctively.

GOOD TO KNOW BEFORE YOU GO

  • After booking, please share your preferences, interests, and places you’d like to visit. Your tour guide will finalize and share the itinerary with you 24 hours before the tour.
  • Please download WhatsApp, as your tour guide will reach out to you there within 24 hours prior to the tour date.
  • The tour is not suitable for wheelchair users or people with mobility impairments.
  • Bring your ID or passport with you.

FUN FACT

As you navigate the massive crowds around Shibuya Crossing and the station, you are actually walking right above a hidden river system. Deep under the pavement, two natural streams meet to form the Shibuya River. The water rushes through massive concrete tunnels right beneath you. Engineers moved the water into the underground tunnels decades ago to prepare for the 1964 Olympics, clearing the way for this busy hub to eventually grow into the world’s busiest intersection.
