Unforgettable!

Absolutely unforgettable and the coolest experience in Tokyo! It really felt like stepping into another world, and when I left the museum, it took a moment to get used to reality again. The water room with the glowing koi was my favorite, and I loved the room with crystal lights. Took some lovely photos there. It exceeded my expectations. I totally recommend this ticket.

Worth visiting with your kids!

We had such a fun time at teamLab Planets. We added it to our Tokyo plans, hoping the kids would like it, and they absolutely did. Our youngest loved drawing pictures and watching them come to life on the walls. We loved the orchid room. Stunning! We were also surprised by how big the space is and how many different rooms there are. It really pulls you in and works on all the senses. A must-see in Tokyo for everyone.

WHAT IS TEAMLAB PLANETS TOKYO ALL ABOUT?

teamLab Planets was created by teamLab, a Tokyo art group that wanted to create digital art that people could walk into, touch, and become part of. The museum opened in 2018 and quickly became a must-see in Tokyo. It started with two areas, Water and Garden. Later, the museum expanded with Athletics Forest, Catching and Collecting Forest, and Future Park. Today, the experience covers about 10,000 square meters of art installations, and it has become one of Tokyo’s most popular attractions.

WHAT WILL YOU EXPERIENCE INSIDE?

Explore teamLab Planets barefoot through immersive rooms where the art reacts to your movement. Every space feels different, and nothing stays the same for long. You’ll walk through warm water with digital koi, enter rooms filled with thousands of moving lights, and stand under floating flowers. Some spaces have soft floors that shift under your weight, while others invite you to run, draw, and interact with digital creatures.

TOP 3 MUST-SEE EXPERIENCES

  • Digital Koi Water Room: Walk barefoot through water where digital koi swim freely and respond to your movements. The scene changes in real time, creating a calm, floating feeling as you move.
  • Universe of Crystal Lights: Stand inside a room filled with thousands of hanging LED lights that shift color and rhythm. Mirrors reflect the lights in every direction, making the space feel endless.
  • Floating Flower Garden: Experience flowers bloom and fade as you walk through the garden.

OTHER POPULAR EXPERIENCES

  • Soft Inflated Floor Room: Walk across a large air-filled floor that sinks and moves under your weight. Every step feels different and changes how you move through the room.
  • Athletics Forest: Explore large interactive spaces designed around movement and balance. Visitors climb, jump, and navigate colorful digital environments.
  • Catching and Collecting Forest: Use your smartphone to catch digital animals and learn about them. After collecting them, you release the animals back into space.
  • Future Park: Draw pictures that instantly appear and move on giant digital screens. This area focuses on shared creativity and is popular with families.

WHAT MAKES IT SPECIAL?

teamLab Planets is built for a full-body immersive art experience. It’s not just an art museum; it’s a full-body experience you won’t find anywhere else in Tokyo. Reserve your ticket online, skip the line for quick entry, and choose the time that fits your plans.

A Guinness World Record-Breaking Experience

teamLab Planets TOKYO holds a Guinness World Record as the most-visited museum dedicated to a single art group. It had over 2.5 million visitors between April 2023 and March 2024, more than major museums like the Van Gogh and Picasso Museums in the same category.

GOOD TO KNOW BEFORE YOU GO

  • Please make sure you bring your ID for identification.
  • Shoes must be removed as you will walk barefoot through water and immersive rooms.
  • Arrive on time. Please note that late entry may not be allowed during busy periods.
  • Photography is allowed, but flash is not permitted as it can affect the light-based artworks. Tripods and selfie sticks are not allowed.

Meeting Point

teamLab Planets TOKYO is located in Toyosu 6-1-16, Koto-ku, Tokyo.

FUN FACT

The Floating Flower Garden installation is not just a digital project; it is actually made of over 13,000 real orchids. They hang from the ceiling, so they look like they are floating. Because orchids can grow without soil, they stay healthy just by drinking water from the air. Motion sensors detect where you step and send a signal to a computer. As you walk, the flowers are lifted out of your way to create a clear path.
