PRO TIP
Just beautiful views of Tokyo. I really suggest getting there a little before sunset. That’s what we did, and it wasn’t even too crowded. That way, you get to see the city with beautiful reds and oranges above it. Plus afterwards watch all the city lights come on. Magical experience! You really get the feel for how you’re just a tiny ant on this great Earth. We kind of made an evening of it and stayed afterwards for a drink and a light meal. Also visited the gift shop. I got some really cute candles I thought were cool!
We were very lucky and even got to see Mt. Fuji. I thought we wouldn’t because there was so much mist, so very pleasant surprise! We also splurged and went to the higher observation deck. Very worth it! The spiral glass tunnel is awesome, and the view really is better. I mean it’s great from the standard floor but my wife loves lookout points so it was a must for us. We never felt like we didn’t have a good view. The staff made sure everyone was moving along in a timely manner, so everyone got a fair chance to see the view.

Head up to the 4th floor of the Tokyo Skytree, where you’ll be greeted by friendly staff. They’ll direct you to a sleek elevator. Step inside, and you’ll shoot straight up to the Tembo Observation Deck 350 meters high! The lookout deck is circular, with windows on all sides, providing a 360° panoramic view of Tokyo. Walk around the deck and gaze outside. You’ll spot sights like the Tokyo Dome, a huge baseball stadium, and Tokyo Tower - a tower inspired by the Eiffel Tower! There’ll also be a birds-eye view of the Sumida River: the winding waterway flowing through Tokyo. Plus, on very clear days, you can even see Mt. Fuji from Tokyo Skytree! This legendary mountain is 100 kilometers southwest of Tokyo, and is only visible when there’s no mist or clouds. If spotting the mountain from above inspires you to see it up close, a Hakone day trip from Tokyo is the perfect getaway.
UPGRADE TO THE TEMBO GALLERIA
You’ll also have the option to upgrade and visit the Tembo Galleria. It's even higher than the Tembo Observation Deck! The Tembo Galleria is 450 meters above ground, and features an ascending ramp in a spiral shape. As you walk up the ramp, the glass windows all around offer an even more dynamic view of the city. The view moves as you move up the ramp! Once you reach level ground, you can visit Sorakara Point: the absolute highest point at 451.2 meters! The space is surrounded by glass and light, providing a unique three-dimensional view. When you stand there, it almost feels like you’re floating!
VISIT FLOOR 345 AND FLOOR 340
Before you head back down to ground level, make sure to stop by floor 345. This is where you’ll find the Tokyo Skytree gift shop, selling all kinds of fun knick-knacks. There’ll be tasty sweets, fashion items you can wear, tableware, glassware, and more! You’ll also find exclusive Skytree merchandise you can only purchase here. Once you’re done shopping, make sure to check out floor 340, also known as the Tembo Deck Glass Floor. This exhilarating spot features a completely see-through floor. Look down only if you dare! You’ll be treated to a dizzying view straight down, sure to give you an adrenaline rush.
